Machine translation post-editing

Machine translation has progressed to the point where it achieves very good results.

The translator's role – Refine the text The translator's role is to polish the machine-generated text. The translator makes the following checks: - Accuracy - Correct terminology - Natural flow of the language - Adherence to the company style guide

Post-editing levels – Quality of the final text In advance of post-editing, the desired quality of the final text is defined: - Light post-editing: the text must be "good enough", meaning it should be accurate and understandable, but is permitted to sound like a literal translation or machine-generated. - Full post-editing: the text must be close to that of a human translation. It should be accurate, contain the right terminology, and be grammatically and stylistically correct.
